SSB Celebration Dinner

Dear Community Champion,

We are excited to announce the 9th Annual Strong, Smart, and Bold Celebration Dinner, which will be held in person on Thursday, June 22nd, at St. Luke Ministry Center from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm. We will be honoring Mrs. Lula Lunsford Huff and our strong, smart, and bold community daughters.

Mrs. Lula Lunsford Huff is the quintessential 21st-century woman. She combines the traditional private roles of wife, mother, and family caregiver with her public life as an effective business, church, community, and civic leader. She is truly a woman for all seasons. Born in Columbus, Georgia, she graduated with honors from Spencer High School and went on to complete her bachelor's in management at Howard University. She received a master’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting from Atlanta University. She also earned a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.

Mrs. Lula Lunsford Huff won the countywide election and became the first African American to serve as Muscogee County Tax Commissioner. She is currently serving her sixth 4-year term, largely in recognition of her unparalleled achievements and dedication to the city’s citizenry. With hard work, determination, and faith, Lula humbly strives for excellence in every aspect of her life. She is an exceptional role model for us all.

The Strong, Smart, & Bold Celebration is our biggest fundraising event of the year. This event brings together community partners, donors, and graduates. It will be an evening of inspiration as we have the opportunity to hear from Mrs. Lula Lunsford Huff as she is honored for her amazing work right here in Muscogee County and hear from our community daughters as they share the incredible, life-changing opportunities they have experienced while participating in Girls Inc.’s programs. There are currently more than 500 corporate, civic, and community leaders actively supporting Girls Inc. programming and we can't wait to see them all at this SSB Dinner.

We are thrilled about the growth, success, and level-up opportunities that happen each day here at Girls Inc. and we look forward to sharing and celebrating these wonderful moments with you. Please join us for an evening of celebration of our girls’ achievements and raising funds for Girls Inc. of Columbus as we continue our mission of inspiring all girls to be strong, smart, and bold.
