As we reflect on another remarkable year, my heart is full. Long before I became CEO of Girls Inc. of Columbus & Phenix-Russell, I was a little girl walking through the doors of the Girls Club—our organization’s first name. There, I was encouraged, believed in, and taught that I could lead. I know firsthand the life-changing difference this place makes, because it changed mine.

Your generosity helps create that same transformation for today’s girls—empowering them to grow into confident leaders who will shape our community and beyond.

This year’s Strong, Smart, and Bold Celebration was especially powerful as we honored FAITH, The Wynn House, and The LINKS, Inc.—community champions whose service reflects the very values we strive to instill in every girl who walks through our doors.

But the heart of our mission is best seen in the girls themselves. Consider three remarkable young leaders we celebrated this year:

• Eden Upton (8, Britt David Elementary) inspires peers with her straight A’s, love of reading and art, and heart for helping others—whether tutoring classmates or offering kindness with her ever-present smile.

• Ashari Hill (6th grade, Richards Middle) leads with grace, compassion, and creativity, excelling in track and golf while sketching elegant ball gown designs for her future fashion career.

• Lauren Jenkins, our Girl of the Year (18, a graduate of Rainey McCullers School of the Arts), now attends Alabama A&M to study Mass Media Arts. Through Girls Inc., she discovered her voice and the courage to lead with purpose.

These young women are living proof: when we invest in girls, we transform futures.
